History
i+solutions is the new name of IDA Solutions and is introduced on the 1st of February 2009. IDA Solutions began in 2005 as a training and consultancy department within the Amsterdam based International Dispensary Association Foundation (IDA Foundation).
IDA Solutions was started because clients required more than just essential medicines procurement and distribution. The complexity of the drug delivery schemes (especially of AIDS/HIV medicines), the wider penetration into more remote areas, and the ever-expanding costs of the medicines themselves created a vital need for developing countries to attain local knowledge in logistics and facilities infrastructures, drug delivery systems and procedures, and procurement and distribution. In short, to ensure the success of the IDA Foundation mission, its clients needed training and technical assistance to manage all aspects of the supply chain to ensure that medical commodities reached their intended consumers in the safest and most efficient manner.
To serve this particular group of clients even better IDA Solutions was established as a separate organization in 2005. With a strong focus on its core business: training, consultancy, and project implementation in the areas of pharmaceutical supply management and reproductive health within lower and middle income countries.
Clients currently served by i+solutions and its predecessor IDA Solutions include drug regulatory authorities, ministries of health, medical stores, international donor organizations, hospitals, wholesale organizations, suppliers and pharmaceutical companies.
