The Category Management Unit and Role description:

The Category Management (CM) department is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the market dynamics for a given product category and the most appropriate strategy to maximize value in terms of cost savings/avoidance, demand management, risk reduction, supplier performance, and contract management.

The CM team is responsible for the sourcing and procurement activities of the organization. The CM unit implements global sourcing and procurement strategies to deliver quality assured health commodities to clients at the best value for money. Currently, the team is actively sourcing and procuring a range of product categories that include among others Essential Medicines, Personal Protective Equipment, Oxygen Therapy Equipment and Devices and COVID therapeutics. The CM unit is looking for a Team member to support the department administratively. The Support-Officer we are looking for, is an energetic, flexible team player to successfully support the department to achieve desired outcomes.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Issuing tenders i.e. Requests for Quotation
  • Coordination of the administration of the tender process
  • Evaluating bids and managing awards
  • Supporting the team administratively during the biding process and evaluation
  • Product prequalification activities in close collaboration with the i+ Quality Assurance (QA) department and suppliers
  • Coordination and setting up supplier performance calls with vendors
  • Managing internal and external supplier communication
  • Assisting with requisition/sales order/purchase order management when required.
  • Follow up on supplier pre-payments and any due payments with finance
  • Coordinate Quality Control (QC) testing activities for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in close collaboration with i+ QA, SGS and the suppliers
  • As required, work with the supply chain team on regular communication with PPE suppliers to eliminate any supply chain bottlenecks to allow smooth movement of goods
  • Administrative activities including but not limited to filing mailboxes, document storage folders etc.

Education, Skills & Competencies:

  • Higher vocational level (HBO) education in Management Support
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in working as a Management Support Officer
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete work with minimal supervision à Ownership and pro-activity towards task achievement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language is required
  • Well-developed time management skills and ability to handle multiple levels of advanced administrative work
  • Strong planning and organizational skills while organizational sensitive
  • Excellent working knowledge of Office 365 applications, AFAS knowledge is a plus
  • Strong affinity with the purpose and impact of i+ solutions
  • Knowledge in the field of NGO’s and preferably international development or the humanitarian world is a plus
  • Available for at least 36 hours a week
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands and currently living in The Netherlands.
