Head of Quality

Reports to: Chief Executive officer

Main responsibilities

The Head of Quality is overall responsible for the quality of the products and commodities i+solutions is delivering to its clients. The Head of Quality leads the Quality Team (3-4 FTEs) and proactively supports the leadership and team managers. The Head of Quality is responsible for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and the Quality Management System, including maintenance and publication of the quality manual, the policies, SOPs and work instructions. Following incident reporting, the Head of Quality oversees the quality process, including a full root cause analysis and CAPA management. The Head of Quality ensures that quality and risk-based thinking are firmly embedded in the culture of i+solutions.

The Head of Quality is also responsible for the internal and external audit policy and procedures, and ensures that all processes and external parties are audited at the minimal frequency. Furthermore, the Head of Quality coordinates external audits by independent parties and ensures follow-up until closure of any audit findings, internal or external. The Head of Quality has an independent position towards the business and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the Quality team
  • Ensure that i+solutions’ Quality Management System conforms to the required standards (ISO 9001, GDP, MQAS) and client, internal, and regulatory/legal requirements
  • Manage, maintain and oversee the Quality Management System
  • Monitor the health of the site’s QMS to ensure that opportunities for continuous improvement are identified, implemented, and their effectiveness monitored
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal policies, processes and associated work instructions
  • Create a robust quality culture in the organization
  • Maintain, develop and implement changes to the relevant ISO systems and other internal management systems, and develop and implement changes in the QMS
  • Ensure a documentation management system is in place which is compliant with i+solutions’ requirements
  • Ensure that there is a change management system to assess the impact of changes on processes, work instructions and other documents
  • Ensure that Quality Risk Management (QRM) processes and procedures are implemented and executed
  • Coordinate the internal and external audits including the accurate and timely implementation of its findings
  • Report to the Management Team on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings
  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news concerning product (service) quality
  • Ensure an adequate training system is in place for all staff engaged in activities related to the QMS
  • Provide oversight of product recalls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in quality management, business management, operations management or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of diversified and progressive work experience in quality management, quality assurance, or internal audit, preferably in a multinational environment
  • 10+ years of experience managing quality management systems and document management systems, preferably in an organization certified for GDP and or GMP and or MQAS.
  • Strong leadership and proven ability to recruit, direct, train, and manage teams
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within strict deadlines and prioritize effectively, while delivering high-quality results
  • Solution-oriented with a strong sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a strong sense of quality
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Preferably knowledge of and experience in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Ability to make and act on decisions while balancing speed, quality and risk. The Head of Quality will need to have the ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work comfortably with Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English is required
